reader request: diy wedding gifts

My friend Liezl is going to a wedding where the bride and groom have requested homemade gifts.  How cool is that?  I think this has been my favorite request yet!

1.  This tree quilt would be adorable with the couple's intials.  {I'll update this link later. Pinterest is not cooperating}
2.  If you could find some cute platters at Target or Goodwill you could paint a monogram, or just about anything.  {via Etsy}
3.  We all need a little reminder, even once we're married.  All you need is a frame, a printer and some dry erase markers. {via eighteen25}
4. Chalkboard coasters!  Buy some tiles from the hardware store and spray them with chalkboard paint. {via diybydesigns}
5.  Sweet stitched pillowcases.  You can get the stitch pattern HERE.
6.  Have a favorite recipe?  Write it on a utinsel crock and fill with kitchen goodies! {via Calico}
7.  This one isn't exactly homemade, unless you can do the box...or make your own wine.  But it is adorable.  A bottle of wine to celebrate your 1st, 5th and 10th anniversary.  You can buy the box and many others at Wine for a Wedding.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!  I'm looking forward to dinner with friends, a hike with my Husband and dogs and whatever else comes our way.  Hopefully sunshine ;)

one of our favorite wedding gifts was a set of 12 wrapped bottles of wine (all different) for us to open each month for the next year of our marriage - they get better and better each month and its so exciting to see what they'll be!

Love this idea! Like those coasters and the wine box. My favorite wedding gift was from my interior designer Aunt, a box full of ornaments and decor for our first Christmas tree (sort of homemade).

I love the idea of making the newlyweds a quilt. Quilts were often made as gifts for Quaker weddings and autographed by all wedding's attendees, and I love the idea of continuing this kind of tradition today. xo style, she wrote

What a fun idea! And what a great way to make people actually put some thought into your gift! I love that pot with the cookie recipe, I just might have to copy that idea for myself!
