champagne jello shots

Alright, see you later Christmas...let's get ready to ring in 2012!  What are you doing for NYE this year, and more importantly...will there be champagne jello shots?

How pretty are these?

{these guys are actually butterbeer jello shots ;) via Rock UR Party}

  • 1 package white grape sparkling Jello mix (3 ounces)

  • 1 cup boiling water

  • 1 cup chilled Champagne

  • Directions

    1. Combine the Jello and boiling water in a boil. Stir until completely dissolved, about 2 minutes. Let set until it comes to room temperature. Slowly stir in the Champagne. Pour into 9x9 tray and chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours. Once firm, dip the tray in hot water for 5 seconds. Use a thin knife to slice into squares.

         2. Sprinkle with colored sugar just before serving.

    I was really looking forward to making these this christmas, until i discovered that the flavor of sparkling white grape jello has been discontinued (in my area, at least). Do you have any suggestions on some other flavor that could be substituted? Thanks!

    White grape jello was discontinued a few years back. I used orange jello for one batch and strawberry for another and both tasted great. Mine came out nothing like the picture I'll definitely use ice cube trays next time. They are really fun to eat and tasty too. I used a mix of champagne and vodka for a bit more kick.

    They discontinued white grape jello a few years back. I used orange jello for one batch (mimosas) and strawberry for another batch and both were really good. They are fun to eat, the pop rocks really make it, but like the recipe says make sure you wait to add the pop rocks until right before they are served or they will melt the jello. Also mine turned out nothing like the picture. I am definitely using ice cube trays next time. I also mixed half vodka half champagne for more kick in one batch and they were equally yummy.
