When my Husband and I decided to marry in Mexico we knew it wouldn't be a legal ceremony, so we got premarried (yep that's a word). My Sister's MIL married us in her living room a week before we left. I didn't want it to feel like our wedding so when she said "you may kiss the bride" I held my hand up and told my Husband "let's save that for Mexico". When we got home around 10pm our neighbors showed up in their pj's with a bottle of champagne. At first I wasn't thrilled because I did not want it to feel like my wedding, but now it's one of my favorite memories. Of course I saved the cork!
When I saw this shadowbox full of milestone corks I knew I wanted to make one. I need a few more happy occasions but it's on my to do list!
Do you save special occasion corks?

Sounds like a crazy week! At least you had the champagne though ;) The shadowbox is such a great idea!
I love the shadowbox idea. I was saving wine corks for a few years and now have them in a box in the basement. Hoping to use them for a future DIY project.
Happy Friday!

LOVE that!! No, I have never saved corks from special occasions but now I wish I had. I guess I can start now. :)
Awesome! Now I'm regretting that I haven't saved champagne corks from special occasions. Happy weekend~
