chalkboard table cloth
It's not always possible to paint your reception furniture...okay it's probably never possible. How about straying from the norm and covering your tables with chalkboard fabric? You can buy it here and sew your own. What? too hard? How about the using lightweight canvas drop cloths and painting them with chalkboard paint? Oh come on...lazy. You can just do an overlay ;) But I do have a thing for extra long linens pooled around the table.

...or you could have your guests write on them and save the notes as mementos -- after some careful screening for the appropriateness of comments (you never know what people would write table side with alcohol flowing at a wedding...)!!
I LOVE this idea....but that's probably because I'm always the one that is drawing on the table when you get the ones with paper table cloths!
